An Easier Mile:
An Organization's First Website

Client Background:

An Easier Mile (AEM) is a nonprofit that provides financial and well-being assistance for immigrant and minority working class families. Specifically providing career, educational growth, and childcare support so working-class parents can try to get higher-paying jobs while spending more time with their children.

Context:

Initially, AEM was only reaching out to families by word of mouth and proactive cold calls. My team needed to make sure information about AEM and its processes were communicated clearly and concisely throughout the website. In addition, we needed to keep in mind the nonprofit founders’ level of technical skill in order to instruct them on how to manage the site and ensure a smooth hand off.

Objectives:

- Site Traffic: Increase viewing and allow potential target families, volunteers, and donors to discover and learn about AEM’s origin, mission, and provided services

- Automated Application Process: Target families and volunteers can directly apply on the site for aid or for volunteer work respectively

- Services: Site can function with form intake and donation capabilities

- Branding: Design a logo to place on the newly designed site
